Anita has specialized in corporate development for over 20 years. She has negotiated transactions in the sports and entertainment sector, as well as agriculture, manufacturing and licensing. Anita has launched businesses in new markets, including South America, Europe and Asia. She has had significant hands-on operational experience, providing a depth of understanding of practical business issues.
Anita is the past President elect for the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba. She has recently been the Public Representative for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba and former President of Gray Academy.
Gil is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of experience in corporate finance and operations. He has in-depth experience in multiple industries with a focus on financing, restructuring, merger and acquisition advisory services, due diligence support and strategic execution of business strategies. Gil focuses on the strategic and finance side of transactions including valuation, financial modeling and capital structure optimization.
Gil is actively involved in the community. He is on the Board of Pan Am Place, a non-profit organization that provides health and positive “lifestyle” for youth-at-risk. Gil volunteers as a coach at Pan AM Boxing club working with members and youth at risk. He also has been coaching for the past six years in the River East Hockey Association.
Richard has over 30 years’ experience working with a wide range of companies, from mid-sized businesses to large public corporations. Prior to joining Acumen, he was General Counsel for a media and communications company in Winnipeg. He takes a hands-on collaborative approach to mediating and implementing acquisitions, divestitures and inter-generational succession transfers.
Richard serves on a variety of community based boards, in addition to The People Corporation (PEO.V) and The Friends of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
Alan has had over twenty-five years of experience building global sales and marketing teams, logistics for sales initiatives along with business to business distribution solutions that enhance profitability.
His mandate is to establish sales, marketing and distribution solutions in new markets while delivering enhanced revenue in existing markets. This is done by leveraging existing successes and better employing proven best practices.
Alan is on the Board and is passionate about Urban Recipe, a unique organization that delivers food security, community and dignity by partnering with corporations and those in need.
Mark has over 20 years of expertise in strategic marketing. He has a BSc in Agriculture and is a Professional Agrologist. Mark’s background in business, science and marketing includes former positions at a large advertising agency and a role as Marketing Manager for a large international agribusiness. Mark is an instructor for the Services Marketing course at Red River College. Mark adds value for our clients through strategic marketing initiatives and in-depth of knowledge of the Agriculture industry.
Mark serves on the boards of the Manitoba Institute of Agrologists, the Manitoba Marketing Network, the Canadian AgriMarketing Association and is the Regional Vice Chair (North America) of the Lex Mundi Marketing Committee.
Whitney joined Acumen in March 2017, with prior experience in wealth management and investments. She provides insightful analysis, reporting and forecasting for our clients, to strategically grow their businesses on a local and global platform.
Whitney completed her Bachelor of Commerce (honours) degree at the University of Manitoba, majoring in Finance and International Business; including studying in South Korea and France.
Whitney presently serves on the board for motionball Winnipeg in support of Special Olympics Canada.
